INTRODUCTION:

1. Appointment
   The Durban University of Technology appointed Ukuza Consulting (Pty) Ltd to provide Professional Quantity Surveying Services for the conditional assessment at the Durban University of Technology – Ritson Campus: Block B and C.
2. Purpose
   The purpose of this appointment is to assess the current condition of Blocks B & C at Ritson Campus and provide accurate costing to remedy the defects found on these buildings.
   The report entails the outcomes of the assessment and recommendations for the defective works that have been identified.
3. Location
   DUT Ritson Campus is situated at 7 Ritson Road, Overport, Durban, 4001 at co-ordinates  29°51’3.30″S and 31° 0’22.20″E

PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The project consists of the conditional assessment as well as the associated costs of the defects that are required to be remedied at the DUT Ritson Campus.
The Blocks inspected and assessed in this report are as follows:

• Block B
• Block C1
• Block C2
• Block C3
• Block C4

It must be noted that Blocks B and C were constructed in the late 1990s and the buildings are over 20 years old.
