INTRODUCTION:

1. Appointment
   The Durban University of Technology appointed Ukuza Consulting (Pty) Ltd as the professional Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers for the inspection of the Rood level of the S-Block Building on Steve Biko Campus.
2. Purpose
   The purpose of this appointment is to assess and provide restoration actions for the defects to the building.
   The reports entail the outcomes of the assessment and recommended refurbishments to be conducted on the Roof level of the S-Block Building.
3. Location
   DUT Steve Biko Campus is situated on the Cnr. Of Steve Biko Road and Botanic Gardens Road at co-ordinates 29°51ˈ09 ̎S and 31°0 ̍13 ̎E.

PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The project consists of the refurbishment of S-Block on Steve Biko Campus.
Elements inspected at the Roof level of S Blocks are:

• Roof slabs and Suspended Floor Slabs inclusive of Waterproofing
• External Façade: Brick and Concrete
• Wet Services Infrastructure such as Visible Fire Water mains
• Waterproofing
