The South African Police Service intends to construct a new police station in Cape Town, Western Cape Province, called Samora Machel Police Station.

THE SAMORA MICHEL POLICE STATION IS LOCATED IN THE WESTERN CAPE PROVINCE.

THE  PROJECT CONSISTS OF PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECTS AS A LEAD CONSULTANT FOR THE PROVISION OF FULL MULTI-DISCIPLINARY PROFESSIONAL CONSULTANCY SERVICES IN ARCHITECTURE, CIVIL AND STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, QUANTITY SURVEYING AND CONSTRUCTION HEALTH AND SAFETY AGENT FOR SAMORA MACHEL POLICE STATION: WESTERN CAPE PROVINCE.

SCOPE OF PROJECT:
As per the terms of reference, the size of the site is approximately 6941 m2. The facilities will inter alia consist of:

1. Community service centre
2. Public ablution block
3. Victim friendly facilities
4. Office block to cater for:
   • Station commander office (Lt Colonel), including secretary with waiting area
   • Visible policing offices
   • Crime prevention offices
   • Detective services spaces
   • Support services spaces
   • Financial services-members office
   • Supply chain management-member’s office
   • Human resource management
   • Communication services
   • Administration spaces
   • Management information centre
   • Store spaces

5.   Male cells standard spaces
6.   Females and juveniles cells standard spaces
7.   Cell standard spaces
8.   Cleaners rest room
9.   Emergency generator room (generator must be provided)
10.   Air-cons and dehumidifier must be provided where and if necessary
11.   Security measures as per security advisory specs
12.   Undercover parking

The total assignable area is approximately 2309.94 m2.
